Moderate knowledge of the subject: The best thing is clearly the dominating theme of the forum or subforum you will moderate. You can easily mediate discussions created around advanced aspects of its subject.
Contributions to forum: It is important to write quality posts regularly, or interesting content, add new information or help other users on a regular basis, use the forum to promote and improve it.
Good attitude to others: A moderator should be friendly with everyone but not necessarily have to be sympathetic to all forum users.
Switching frequency to forum: Be willing to connect to the forum frequently.
Work moderator
Maintain order of messages and threads of conversation: Moderators have the direct ability to enforce order and place forum topics of conversation in their respective forums.
Also if the messages sent by users are wrong or do not have to do with the topic, the moderator may, in its view, edit these posts or warn the user that caused the problem (input sent originally).
Correction of negative behaviors: Moderators have the moral duty to create a climate in the forum, and therefore warn users to correct bad behaviors they may have, such as the reflotes (reply to a topic as old that no longer makes sense), the floodeo (send short and irrelevant) messages or trolling (volunteer worsening environment right forum discussion).
Additionally all disrespect, threats and the like should have the disapproval of the moderators.

Conocimiento del tema a moderar:Lo mejor es que domines claramente la temática del foro o subforo que vas a moderar. Así, podrás mediar más fácilmente discusiones creadas en torno a aspectos avanzados de su temática.
Aportaciones al foro: Es importante escribir posts de calidad habitualmente, o contenidos interesantes, aportar nueva información o ayuda a otros usuarios de modo regular, para fomentar el uso foro y por mejorarlo.
Buena actitud con los demás: Un moderador debe mostrarse amable con todo el mundo aunque no tenga que necesariamente simpatizar con todos usuarios del foro.
Frecuencia de conexión al foro: Debes estar dispuesto a conectarte con frecuencia al foro.
Labores del moderador
Mantener el Orden de mensajes e hilos de conversación: Los moderadores tenéis la capacidad directa de forzar el orden en el foro y colocar los temas de conversación en sus foros correspondientes.
Además si los mensajes que envían los usuarios están equivocados o no tienen que ver con el tema tratado, el moderador puede, a su juicio, editar dichos mensajes o avisar al usuario que originó el inconveniente (envió el aporte originalmente).
Corrección de comportamientos negativos: Los moderadores tenéis el deber moral de crear un clima adecuado en el foro , y por tanto de avisar a los usuarios de que corrijan los malos comportamientos que puedan tener, como por ejemplo, los reflotes (contestar a un tema tan antiguo que ya no tiene sentido), el floodeo (enviar mensajes cortos e irrelevantes) o el trolleo (empeoramiento voluntario del correcto ambiente de discusión del foro).
Asimismo, todas las faltas de respeto, amenazas y similares deben tener la desaprobación de los moderadores.
